What's Next: Youth

Interesting quick read. The consensus seems to be that we need to have a multigenerational focus and connect youth to the whole church rather than always compartmentalize.

I think it also boils down to relationships, as opposed to entertainment.

Kids need authentic community, community where they can also serve according to their gifts and passion in the church as a whole. A place that is a safe and nurturing place for them.

They also need adults who will passionately invest themselves into their lives, to imitate the apostle Paul who said to the Thessalonian Church, "for we loved you so much that we not only shared with you the Gospel of God, but our very lives as well," (1 Thess. 2:8).

A Church that is going to passionately pursue kids where they are at - on the streets, schools, homes, hang-outs and detention centers. Go after the kids that would never darken the door of a church, and connect with them relationally.

Anyway, that is my two cents - I'd love to read your comments, so please post!
