Congress Hijacking Foreign Policy

Is it just me or does anybody else think it is inappropriate for members of Congress to be visiting with Heads of State with whom we don't have diplomatic ties, against the wishes of the current administration? For me this is a non-partisan issue. I don't care who is in the White House, foreign policy constitutionally belongs to the executive branch. The United States Government needs to speak with one voice, and that means Members of Congress needs to follow the Executive Branch's lead. All this does is embolden the Syrians to continue with their support of the Iraqi insurgency and Hezbollah.

Read a recent article on Fox News on Sen. Arlen Specter's (R - PA) plans to go to Syria. There is also a good op/ed piece by David Limbaugh on Townhall.com about Sen. Bill Nelson's (D - FL) recent trip there (his picture to the right).
