Sleazy-Chic - Break Point Worldview

Reading this article the first thought that came to mind when thinking about Kelvey or Lillian wearing t-shirts like this is "over my dead, cold stiff body and their mother's too, because there isn't anyway that Cheryl would let the girls wear t-shirts that said stuff like that."
In my almost 15 years of youth ministry I have been amazed, amazed at what some Christian parents allow their teenage daughters to wear. The last thing I want to do is stand in judgement, because I know I am not God's gift to parenting, and I don't even have a teenager yet. But I can't help but wonder if they realize what they are allowing their teenage daughters to advertise by wearing clothes that are "too high, too low, too tight or not enough."
Men by and large are visual, which is why for the most part it is men who struggle with pornography rather than women. We need to encourage our daughters to be modest for their sake, but also for their fellow brothers in Christ. Now, I am not excusing men, and placing all of the responsibility on women. That is a scheme has been around for a long, long time - remember in Genesis, Adam telling God, "yeah Eve made me do it, it was the woman," (Genesis 3:12 - SPV - "Shane's Paraphrase Version).
Men by and large struggle with the lust of the eyes, (1 John 2:16). We (men and women too) need to continually go to the Father to help us to "be transformed by the renewing of the mind," (Romans 12:2, NIV). Our sisters in Christ can give us a hand with that (because those outside of Christ sure aren't) by asking themselves when shopping or choosing an outfit for the day, "what is it that I am drawing attention to when I wear this?" That would be a huge help.
